The largest park on the island of Montreal, Cap-Saint-Jacques is a regional park located in the West Island of Montreal, at the junction of Lake Deux-Montagnes and Rivière des Prairies.
Located on a peninsula, three quarters of the park are lined with water. In winter, the park becomes a training ground for all snow lovers. There are many trails for cross-country skiing and hiking with or without snowshoes. If you’re looking for a place close to town where you can spend your day in the snow, Cap-Saint-Jacques is the place to go!
Parking is 7.00 CA$ for two hours or 9.00 CA$ for the day. The reception chalet offers maps of the hiking trails and for cross-country skiers. The trails are well signed, and they are all panoramic. The view is, indeed, amazing: the pedestrian path goes through the woods and along the icy river. The landscape is simply breathtaking!
