Mont Tremblant is an enchanting village one-and-and-half hour north of Montreal. The location is known by Quebec skiers for the many ski slopes, but it is also a destination for many winter activities – snowmobile rides, horseback rides, helicopter tours, hiking trails and it famous Scandinavian Spa.
Once you leave the traffic of Montreal behind, the drive to Mont Tremblant is smooth and relaxing.
The Scandinavian spa is just minutes from Saint-Jovite. The resort is simply fantastic, perched on a slope of the mountain, among a pine tree forest and the Devil River. If you’re brave enough, you can soak in its icy waters! The staff at the Scandinave Spa is courteous and attentive, and the resort is designed as a place of total relax, indoors and outdoors. There are several heated and cold pools outside, plus saunas and several indoor relaxation rooms. Scattered here and there are fireplaces that give off a scent of pine wood. When you’re not dipping, you can relax by the fire on long chairs, wrapped in heavy warm blankets. The water steam that rises from the pools is also very picturesque. Unfortunately (or maybe not) phones and cameras are not allowed in the Spa.
We have been back to the Scandinavaian Spa in summer after this visit, and we cannot recommend enough. It is worth in any season! Of course, we much preferred winter. Friendly advice: book in advance. The Spa is always busy and there is a cap on the number of people admitted inside.
