Rue Sainte-Catherine is one of the most important commercial avenues in Montreal. With kilometres of shops, clubs and restaurants, it’s one of the favourite strolling destinations for the Montrealer. From the Beaudry metro station to Papineau, you will notice that the street is decorated with rows of small coloured balls to reproduce a long rainbow flag running in between the building: that’s the heart of the gay village of Montreal.
This stretch of Rue Sainte-Catherine is a pedestrian only area that is always full of life: day and night you will find things to see and to do. From the bridge next to Papineau Boulevard, you will be able to see the rainbow flag from above.
