Île Charron is a small island in the Saint Lawrence river that serves as a base for ferries to the Boucherville islands and the Trans-Canada Highway connecting the island of Montreal to the South shore. This is not typically a place where you would go as a destination, but if your’e passing by, it’s worth a stop at the waterfront park on the westernmost tip of the island.
In winter, indeed, from Île Charron you can enjoy an incredible view of the St. Lawrence river completely frozen. At a distance, you can see a white fog rising to the sky from the river, with an unforgettable view of the city in the background. When temperatures are close to -20 Celsius, you will feel like walking on a different planet.
If you’re fascinated by winter panoramas, this is a perfect spot to enjoy just that.
